Salisbury cathedrAL
Discover a medieval masterpiece, with Britain’s tallest spire, largest cloisters, and biggest Cathedral Close, as well as an original 1215 Magna Carta. Come and see what makes Salisbury Cathedral one of England’s ‘must-see’ historical attractions.
STOURHEAD
One of the world's finest landscape gardens and beautiful all year round, but spectacular in Autumn when the leaves are turning. The Christmas lights walk is also a highlight.
Jurassic Coast
With our convenient location just off the A303 on the Dorset-Wiltshire border, Bird & Carter is only an hour away from some of Britain's most iconic beaches along the Dorset coastline.
Abbotsbury, Knoll Beach, Sandbanks, Lulworth Cove, Worbarrow Bay, Ringstead Bay, Chesil Beach... the list is long. Strap your paddle board to the roof and explore Durdle Door by sea.
Shaftesbury
Just a 20 minute drive away, the picturesque hilltop town of Shaftesbury is home to Gold Hill, which you might recognise from the vintage Hovis ad. Definitely stop for a photo, but Shaftesbury has much more to offer by way of independent shops and cafes and cultural events.
Some of our favourites are Pamplemousse, Folde, The Botanical Candle Company, Mine, Bright Blooms, Moon + Back and Cranbornes (especially the toy shop!), but there is lots more to explore besides.
Bruton
Bruton is a 20 minute drive, and has a lot to offer. Some of our favourite places to eat are At The Chapel, Roth Bar and Grill, Osip and The Old Pharmacy. Hauser & Wirth is well worth a visit, both for the gallery and beautiful gardens, and The Newt -also with incredible gardens to explore- is a whole day out in itself.
FROME
A 25 minute drive, and best visited on the first Sunday of the month, when the brilliant Frome Independent street market takes place. The Rye Bakery is not to be missed.
LONGLEAT SAFARI
Britain's number one safari park is just a 20 minute drive from the Farm shop, and it makes a wonderful day out for families.
